What to tell manager - endo pain...

Hi everyone

I’m sure a lot of you would have experienced what I have been the past year. I have been in severe pain from suspected endometriosis for a few years and it’s really affecting me at work. I often leave work early due to severe pain. My manager is aware of this. The other issue I have is effect of the painkillers I take to relieve the symptoms; I’m on cocodomol with ibuprofen. The cocodomol is the highest dosage and so I feel really sick and drowsy/sleepy when I’m on them. I also struggle to concentrate and I become forgetful. My manager often comes in to ask me questions and I find myself lost in what she is saying...not sure if I should make her aware of this?

Hi Aaliyah😊

I suffered this for 34 years how badly I feel for you ☹️🌸

In today’s world people often judge what they see. Given that it’s today’s reality I would not want anyone to think I’m taking drugs or incompetent to do my job.

I think it would be better to have a talk to your boss so there is no doubt about you. Unless this would cause you to lose your job. If there’s no risk of that you may find your boss will be understanding. 🙂

I wish you all the best and please take care dear. 🦋🌸🌺

😊🌸 🤗💕xxx

Hi I had a very similar experience with the Cocodamol and nurofen cocodamol. I changed to paracetamol and naproxen - a stronger version of nurofen. Which works better for because it completely tackles the pain but none of the awful cocodamol side effects. You can also get codeine separately so if you need the extra boost you can add it in

Hi,

Thanks! That’s a really good idea actually! I might try paracetamol with ibuprofen and see how I get on pain wise.
