Had my ultrasound today.

Hi all.

Just to update you all I had my ultrasound today 13th March. I had to have another one after my first one today as they couldn't see my ovaries. So they had to do a transvaginal ultrasound instead which they managed to see them. They didn't tell me much but asked if I had children or planning on having children. I replied to her that we want to try for a baby at some point. Her reply was oh ok. I'm really confused about what she ment by that and the fact that she couldn't find my ovaries on the first scan. She told me to see my gp for my results.

I'm just wondering if anyone else had problems with their ovaries not showing on an ultrasound?

Also are there any other tests I should think about getting. As the pain is so bad I'm now on tramadol.

I know endo doesn't show up on ultrasounds that's why I can't understand why I've not had an mri or ct scan.

Sometimes transvaginal scans can show deep infiltrating endometriosis. Ovaries sometimes become shy so to speak as my BSGE consultant said to me as my left ovary is no where to be seen via scans, mines tucked up high among my colon. Your best off speaking to you GP though to see what the scan actually showed.

Ok thank you. I'm just really worried as previous scans I had no issues with my ovaries not being visable. My last scan was a year ago and all was ok. I'm going to make an appointment with my gp asap.

They couldn’t find my left ovary but my lap confirmed it was there! Did worry me though! Hope everything will be okay X

Thank you x I will keep you all updated. I'm on a very long waiting list for a lap. Told me could be 12 months. x
