Hi all. Has anyone not drunk the full two litres of this horrid stuff.

I have only manage to do just under a litre. I physically can’t do the other litre.

Will it make that much if a difference. If I don’t complete the desired amount.

Please help. Got the scan in my bowel tomorrow. X

If your bowel isn’t completely clear they’ll be unable to get the imagery you need and you’ll potentially have to reschedule for when it is. I’d stick to the desired amount! I’m aware it is completely vile you poor thing 🤢

Thanks for your reply. I haven’t eaten anything since 8am today. I just drunk just under a litre of the stuff and can’t do anymore now.

I just have to hope and pray that they be able to see the endo in the scan. X

This all cane about when I went for a planned hysterectomy but couldn’t do it as my bowel had attached itself to my womb. Now got a bowel consultant involved. X

Oh you poor thing. I feel your pain, I’ve been referred to colorectal today as they’re likely to be needed for my surgery. Least the end is in sight for you if it’s all being removed soon x

if they are doing a laparoscopy you need to follow the instructions properly ring you r surgeon and ask what to do if youve not had all of it . It can cause far worse issues if faeces from your bowel comes out accidentally if they puncture the bowel and its life-threatening if its just a scan it may be different. I did moviprep 4 times you have to just bite the bullet my love id kind of build myself up take as many gulps as i could and it helped drinking something like clear pop or or luczade sems a good one i saw the other lady you can do it over 2 hours gulp say 5 gulps leave it 10 mins then do again and so on its the onnly way to help them to help you het better and do their checks properly a puctuured bowel could kill you and drinking moviprep would seem like nothing compared to that. Sorry for the lecture but you must tell the people beforehand or asap how much you have managed it may be ok or they may be able to compensate in some way . good luck ive done it loads and i know its awful good luck xxx

I found the best way to drink that stuff is with a straw and then drink lucozade in between.

Try adding a full shot of orange squash to a cup, two shots of Moviprep and the rest fresh water, it was the only way I could do it and even then I couldn’t manage the second litre, you aren’t alone, if you cant do it and need it rearranged, ask for picolax apparently it doesn’t taste like lemon salt water and it’s a lot less fluids x

Hi there! I used to work in a colonoscopy unit as a nurse, if your bowel movements are pretty much clear or a bit yellow like wee then it’s usually fine. If there’s still lumps coming out you’ll have to keep drinking or they’ll reschedule because the lumps block the view of the camera and can get stuck in the nooks and crannies which potentially could hide something important 😩 hope you’re okay!

I only drunk one litre and it didn’t work at all I didn’t even go to the toilet once so i didn’t see the point in forcing another litre down, so I had to reschedule, the next time they advised I take 2 laxatives with it and I added some lemonade to my moviprep (2 litres is so hard I was heaving after finishing the first) it worked fine with the laxatives and I didn’t need to drink the second litre as I was pretty much passing water by the end of the first litre.

Hope it worked x

Add squash to it, keep it in the fridge it helps. I've done a few and you just have to get it down, if there are still even small lumps (sorry!!) coming out then they won't do it as it's a waste of time. I take movicol daily so the taste didn't bother me too much, but it is one of those mind of matter things. Sorry that you're finding it tough, these things we have to endure aren't fun but hopefully it'll lead to you getting sorted xx

Morning ladies. Thanks for all your helpful hints. Today is the scan. I drank just under a litre. I didn’t have a bowel movement till this morning and it’s slightly looser. Sorry to much info.

I am going to go and see what happens. They know I have endo on my bowel so they not going to to see. They just seeing if it’s on outside or inside. So hopefully this won’t be waste of time and they get a result. X

I've had this twice before endo excision. The first time I drank the two litres and it worked perfectly. The second time I managed to drink the first litre and managed half of the second litre but was then sick and couldn't take any more and it didn't work. I didn't go to the toilet at all. When I got to the hospital for my surgery the doctor wasn't happy that I hadn't been so I had to have two enemas!! Hope everything goes ok for you.
