Healing time after laporoscopy

Hi guys had a laparoscopy last Tuesday been off since November in severe pain and was diagnosed with Endo I’m just wondering how long it took others to recover after this procedure as my sick note runs out Tuesday but I’m still super tired after even making a cup of tea ... I’m a community Carer so lifting people running around etc I feel worried that I still feel rubbish when the hospital said I should be well enough to return to work by Tuesday 😔

I would suggest seeing your GP and getting signed off for another week. I’ve read a lot of stories about people going back to early so don’t push yourself!

I had a 2 week sickline. I had mild endo diagnosed and removed. By your stage now I’d have definitely not been ready to go back to work. Even in my 3rd week, when I did go back, I still felt pretty tired and mine is a desk job. You may need another 1-2 weeks off xx

hi Love !! Hope you are doing well :) it took me about 4 weeks to get my strength back and go to work and in honesty it was 4 months before i felt normal again :)

Luckily I didnt have to go back to work as I am a student but it did take me quite a while to recover, I still am after 2 months. My endometriosis makes it really difficult for me to eat and im sick if I force myself so it might be that in not getting enough energy/ nutrients to heal also I got the flu while recovering so that would make recovery time longer. If you feel you are not ready to return to work I would definitely go and get another sick line, there is no point pushing yourself. Im not to sure if a doctor can deny a resonable request for a sick line, one doctor I worked with before said its not worth the risk of getting sued! I hope you start feeling better soon.

Hi! Definitely don’t rush back, especially if your job is physical. I’ve done that a few times in the past after surgery & I always regret it. You need to give your body time to heal, as it’s a shock going from relaxing & recovering to commuting, working all day etc. Your health comes first. Rest up & hope you feel better soon x
