Searching for a miracle 🤔

Hey guys. So had a pelvic and urinary tract ultrasound today and what they found was not as I had hoped. I know I have severe endo for 20 years (uterus, ovaries, bowel, bladder, kidneys, joints you name it, I've got it there!) But they have now found my left ovary is stuck to my bladder and uterus causing a blockage to part of my bladder, meaning I am unable to fully empty my bladder resulting in constant severe water infections. Been advised likelihood is obviously diathermy and removal of abrasions and separate everything and probably removal of my ovary. Whilst it's not exactly a thought I'm excited about, it's not the end of the world and I've been so ill for the last 2 years with the constant uti and often severe kidney infections I'll be pleased for that to be over. I've been advised that I will be on constant antibiotics in the meantime of surgery to keep infection at bay as much as poss but I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice of anything else I can try in the meantime to ease the situation until I have surgery? I work full time and am a single mum so it's not easy by any stretch. Just looking for that miracle cure I guess........

Hi, I feel for you as know what it’s like. I too had severe endo and frozen pelvis where everything was stuck together. I had it removed in May 2014. Since I gave birth in Aug 2015 a lot of my pain and problems returned. I have also had trouble emptying my bladder since the big op and the last few months been getting constant urine infections. I also sometimes feel like I have a UTI but there’s no infection when tested so it’s possible I have intistitual cystitis too. Anyway due to the debilitating pain I get on the right side I’ve just had the right ovary and tube removed along with adhesions. Both ovarys and tubes were stuck to the pelvic sidewall. Right worse than left so he’s just free’d up the left side as didn’t want to take both out and put me in the menopause yet.

I was under urology back along which I now need to go back to but when I last saw them they taught me how to self-catheterise. I didn’t like the thought of it at first but you get used to it and it’s so quick and easy. It just helps me empty my bladder when I need to. I’m needing them daily at the min as only had my surgery last week and my bladder stays super lazy but I always try and get as much wee out as poss first before using one. It might be an idea to get referred to urology and see if you can get set up with using catheters. It’s no good not emptying properly as like you’ve found you’ll just get persistent UTI’s.

I often think I’ve done a big wee and emptied my bladder, then surprise myself how much still comes out from the catheter. Give me a shout if you have any questions and good luck with everything.xx

No problem. It’s really easy once you get used to doing it. The catheters I have a small like a little pen so even easy to carry in your handbag.xx
