Hey ladies!

If you have read my previous posts, you'll know I've struggled with my employer when I've taken time off.

I've been off sick the last week (5 days) with a horrid stomach bug (so, not endo related as every other absence has been) and I'm terrified to go back.

My doctor has assured me I don't need a sick line as it's only been 5 days and if they have an issue, he will fight my corner but still I am so anxious.

I was told if I had one more absence then I'd be fired...

Don’t let them push you out or make you feel unwelcome because that’s then bordering on discrimination and mistreatment and harassment and all that. I personally quit my jobs and am now f*cked financially out of fear of that being fired would effect my future employment opportunities and quality of the references I receive. Endometriosis isn’t classed as a disability but can be as its assessed person to person can potentially be classed as one but a report was launched by the Work Foundation about the impact of women in the workplace with 'under-recognised chronic gynaecological health conditions' send your boss a copy of that if needs be x

I have a good bit of experience with sickness absence...... I’m going through review now myself but also work in HR.

An employer can’t categorically say to you that you’ll be fired if you’re absent one more time in general. Have you met with occupational health? How many review meetings have you had with HR?

Feel free to PM me if you need advice on what they’ve said x

I've never seen occupational health or HR! At the last meeting it was said I would see both but that never happened and that was 4 months ago now xx

That alone would look bad on them as they have not supported you per their duty of care, you could. Hopefully they will be ok if the do go hard ball raise a grievance. They have to follow a strict process if they want to dismiss you of written warnings, so unless you are on a final written warning already they can't yet dismiss you at least that was what I thought. Sorry the situation is still so bad.

Maybe speak to a lawyer or cab if it turns out to be difficult. Xxxx
