Poem I wrote expressing how Endometriosis makes me feel! Nervous sharing it but needed to get it off my chest 👇👊💛

Right let's see where shall I begin;

Using heat pads so hot they actually burn your skin.

Taking painkillers that make you feel like you are in a haze,

Or the times you are stuck in bed for days!

The battle with yourself to do 'normal' things,

Forcing yourself then regretting it because of the pain it brings.

Feeling hopeless, helpless angry and stressed...

Not to mention the anxiety and times you feel depressed.

Sleepless nights and sleep filled days induced by medication,

Saying "I'm so tired" and seeing your families frustration.

Trying to explain chronic fatigue does not disappear with a nap.

I FEE LIKE ENDOMETRIOSIS HAS ME STUCK IN A TRAP!

Side effects and symptoms a list that goes on and on;

One sufferer might have all of them another might have just one.

Chronic pain, IBS, Sickness, Infertility, Heavy Bleeding just to name a few...

Not to mention organs attached to organs fused together like superglue!

Sometimes I'm selfish I think why me, PLEASE give me a break!

Some days I wish saying "I'm fine" with a smile did not have to be fake.

Other days I'm proud of what I have achieved,

And I know dispite everything I am strong and I will continue to succeed!

1 in 10 women have to struggle and fight everyday,

Once that diagnosis is made we realise that this could never go away.

Education, support and research is key,

ONE DAY I HOPE ENDOMETRIOSIS SETS ME FREE!
