Headache and Tiredness

I have the coil fitted and I don't really have periods but every now and again I think my body is trying to have a period. I get a dirty bloody discharge (Sorry if TMI!!) My problem is when this happens it makes me feel so tired and gives me really bad headaches and I just want to sleep.... I'm just wondering if this happens to anyone else during their time of the month or could it be something else that's causing this? Thanks

Yes I was exactly the same I’m afraid. I ended up having it removed after 11 months as I was not coping with it. I also got severe depression with it to which was the final straw. I was gutted as it seemed an easy option and my pain had eased. I had sooo many good stories with it and I was gutted I was not one of them. It proves we’re all different and our bodies respond in different ways. Sadly I’m of the conclusion my body does not like artificial hormones!

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've had the coil fitted for nearly 10 months and I'm really torn what to do as it's helped my bleeding and endo pain loads! When it makes me feel like it did yesterday it's awful so really not sure what to do.. 🤔

Hi, I've had mine in for 6 months now. I have kept a diary of how I feel the last couple of months after I was still I'll and have realised that while my uterus may not be bleeding so I'm not really having a period, my endometriosis is still responding to my cycle ( I'm definitely still ovulating) and is in fact continuing to worsen despite the coil. This may be happening with you too.

Shame isn't it. The coil seemed a perfect answer

Mines been fitted nearly 10 months now and it sounds very similar apart from I don't really get much pain anymore. I used to be in agony for days. It's helped loads with pain and bleeding I just seem to get headaches and tiredness and it's on days like the last few I wonder whether it's worth keeping the coil but today I feel slightly better the joys of endometriosis eh!!!
