Hello hope ur recovering well from ur lap! After I had mine, my stitches stayed in for weeks and were very sore and bruised but eventually they fell out nearly a month later xx

Not to worry, after my lap, the stitches were still in there weeks after, they will either fall out eventually or if they are troubling you and pulling at your skin, you could ask your local GP if they can take it out for you (my consultant took mine out at the follow up consultation, it was very quick and didn't hurt)x

It took my stitches about 3-4 weeks to go. My GP and nurse both said this was a normal timeframe... I was a bit unsure too at the time because the info the hospital had given me said it would only be 7-10 days!

Can't comment too much on the pain aspect as one of my wounds got infected so caused a lot of extra pain, but I know the uninfected one was still very tender and bruised.
