Cramps

I'm getting cramps and pain in my lower stomach at random times. I'm not due my period for another 1-2 weeks and the cramps are really hurting but painkillers don't help the pain

Last night, I was having a sharp shooting pain in my right side around the ovary area

I was wondering if anyone knows what this could be as I have signs of endometriosis but not been diagnosed as I need to see a gynae in a few weeks

I do get this and I think it is a cyst rupturing. Sometimes it can last days and then gets really bad before it stops, other times its just a quick sharp pain. Try having a hot bath and maybe some painkiller with codeine in them, Nurofen plus and Co-codamol can be bought over the counter.

I've tried nurofen and it doesn't work at all. The ultrasound scan about a month said I didn't have any cysts in my ovaries though. It's like a dull ache across the whole lower stomach that turns sharp at the sides near my ovaries

I had this a couple of weeks ago along with a burning sensation. I've had a similar thing back in March and I was told it was a cyst rupturing. I ended up in hospital again this time and they did an ultrasound but they said it was probably just ovulation pain. Although if I were you I would maybe go get it checked out, I did because I really couldn't believe ovulation pain could be this bad, apparently so!

Can ovarian cysts be sometimes missed on ultrasound scans or appear afterwards because my scan was like a month ago and they found no cysts

Did they do a transvaginal ultrasound?

No they didn't

Then I was told it is possible, there may be a chance they missed something. As that helps them see things better. This time I didn't have one either but I think that's because they put it down to ovulation pain so they may say the same to you. Has the pain calmed down at all?

No it hasn't, it's turned into a dull ache like pain with random sharp pains

That's what happened with me the first time and the surgen I saw (because they were about to take me to surgery thinking it was my appendix) told me that those symptoms are typical of a cyst bursting. Although I have the same symptoms this time and they've put it down to the endometriosis and ovulation pains. Maybe try get to see your GP rather than waiting until your other appointment just to make sure everything is ok

Yeah what if it's not a cyst though like what else could it be? Because I'm due my period in a week but I'm so irregular

I don't know that's what problem I've had. The first time when they said it was a cyst there was no proof because I didn't have an ultrasound until like 4 weeks after. This time I had a transabdominal ultrasound and not a TV one but nothing showed up so they just said it was most likely ovulation pain because it fit in with my cycle. I would argue for another ultrasound and also push for a transvaginal ultrasound this time. I was told they shouldn't have done a TA and not TV if nothing showed up on the TA ultrasound. Hope this helps

Could this be ovulation pains if it's a couple of weeks before your period? Sometimes my ovulation pains can be sharp and painkillers don't do much to help. I use a free app called Clue which helps to track your cycle and you can use it to make notes to build up a clearer picture of your symptoms. Might be worth a try?
