hi Blossom, sorry you are going through that. If I am total honest, it would be much better if you went down the hysterectomy route (if you don not want may more kids)as the only way your pain and endo will subside is going down this route -otherwise you are putting your body through endless operations and also at a higher risk of ovarian and womb issues as the endo continues to grow. I have the same as you and was advised the same thing 4 weeks ago, but only when I have had a child or at least tried for one and then to go back and have a hysterectomy. Hope you get lots of advice on here x
I had stage 4 endo and was in constant pain and very heavy bleeding. Dr suggested a hysterectomy as the alternative was pain management and regular laproscopies. I had mine six weeks ago and I made the right decision - no more periods. My endo had stuck both ovaries together, fused them to my bowel and back. I had a chocolate cyst on left ovary, adhesions and adeno.
You should do some research so you can make an informed decision - it's a big decision to make. Weigh up the choices and then decide.
Wonderful to hear that you have 2 children. I'm not 'medical' enough to advise, and whilst I have stage 4 Endo which has caused no end of ongoing health issues, I'm determined to have 1 last go at ivf. I was advised to go down the hysterectomy route.
Am I right in thinking if you still have your ovaries you will still produce estrogen and get monthly pain (i.e the Endo will still be there?). If you have your ovaries removed of course I think HRT can either mimic symptoms, but there can be other problems later - such as thinning bones?
I'm not trying to scare you. I just want you to get the best medical advice, think things seriously through first. When I told them at the hospital my plan was to try and have a baby and then have everything removed to get rid of the pain, I was told this was a good idea but that Endo would never completely go. Thanks for sharing that you have 2 children. Still gives people like myself some hope. After all we go through. Best wishes with whatever decision xx
