PID or Endo?

Hi Ladies

I was wondering if anyone had been told they had PID at laporoscopy but a few days later all tests came back saying there was no infection. I am convinced all my symptoms match endo but the Gynae Cons said there was no endo found. I am very confused and wondering if anyone had the same?

Thanks x

I've suspected for years i have endo, was told in my late teens that i had "ibs" went on the pill and my symptoms subsided, came off the pill 6 months ago to start trying for a family and started having problems again, i ended up being admitted into hospital with excruitaing pains just over 3months ago. Thought it might have been my appendix, but it wasn't so they did other tests including bloods, internals, and ultrasounds and when i had the ultrasound they found i have fluid in my left tube and its completley blocked, and they said i had PID so now waiting for the tube to be removed, until thats been sorted my gynaecologist won't even look into endo. The pains horrific and unbearable at times xx

Oh bless your heart, I was admitted back in Oct ? Appendix. My scan showed fluid in pelvis and numerous cysts but bloods showed nothing. I was then readmitted in Jun and had Lap last week, it showed ovaries fused together and cysts, but no endo. Apparently there was lots of pus (sorry TMI!) but no infection. I totally sympathise with you on the pain side of things, it's debilitating. I really hope you get some answers soon and op goes well. Big hugs xx

Did they do anything to your fused ovaries and cysts when they did the lap? I'm kind of hoping that when they remove the tube they actually find endo, not that i want to have it, but atleast then i can say i told you so kinda thing!! I can't cope with the pain anymore, when i went to the gynae last time he said he didn't want to operate without giving me another set of antibiotics in case there was an infection! It just seems to drag on doesn't it. Big hugs to you too 😘 xx

No they didn't do anything and are not planning too, just they are fused together and my Fallopian tubes are stuck to ovarian fossa. They said there was evidence of infection in uterus when they did hysteroscopy at same time. But like you no infection was found on swabs. I guess I will just have to wait and see if pain returns after the pain from lap disappears. Yes you are right it drags on I am 46 and had problems all my life with periods etc. Hoping you get some answers soon. Keep me informed how you get on. Big hugs 😘 Xx

Hi Ladies I’m just wondering what sort of symptoms you showed? As I am confused whether I might have PID or Endo.

Hi Ellie - I had and still have varying pretty much constant pain in my lower abdo that moves around.in the past It has felt stabbing, dull ache. Recently it has felt like a constant pressure. It affects me walking and can’t really do any exercise at mo. I have always had painful periods. They thought I had PID at laparoscopy as they said they found an infection, but no infection found. Also they said tubes fused to ovaries, but gave no treatment except 2wks antibiotics which did naff all!!! I am still under gynae trying to find the cause. I hope you get an answer soon Carolyn xx
