Just here for some general advice. I've been suffering for extremely heavy & painful periods for 10 years. Dr is positive I have endometriosis, as nothing has showed up on scans, painful during sex and my bowel is I am so frustrated now! I have tried everything, pill, injection, implant and only now have I been referred because I was hospitalised due to the pain. Dr has given me 50mg of Tramadol, 30mg of co codamol and mefamic acid. The tramadol does slightly take the edge off when I am at my worst but other than that the others are redundant. I seem to be in a fair bit of pain when I am not on my period, mainly on one side and my lower back. Is this normal?!😩 Again I have had a scan but it hasn't shown anything. this whole thing is debilating and it's interfering with my work and life.
Do any of you have any advice please?! I am just so at the end of my tether! It would be appreciated
Thanks x

Hello! So sad you are feeling like this it is so hard! I had a scan before my laparoscopy last year and it showed nothing I think a lot of the time it doesn't show up on a scan? Have you thought about the Mirena coil I have it and after my op they said to keep it in because the hormones can help with the endo. Heat pads are amazing or a hot water bottle on your tummy is good I keep one under my desk at work xx
Endometriosis can't be properly diagnosed without having a laparoscopy (according to my doctor). Once they find out you have it they start treatment right away, and can sometimes remove some of it during the lap. So, if you are concerned that you may have it I would definitely talk to your doctor about possibly having a lap to check to make sure everything is okay.
