So. I saw the consultant last Tuesday and admitted defeat.
Coil and Zoladex both unsuccessful, and oopherectomy ruled out by me. He warned that I had multiple stages of endo in the nodule and even if I declined excision surgery then I'd be monitored very closely with MRIs etc to check growth. I gave up and accepted the op.. limping on with fatigue and dyspareunia not being much fun. It felt like saying no would just be delaying the inevitable while I took progesterone Cerezette for 3 months. And ironically he threw my words back at me about nodules being hormone resistant. So risk now being better than bigger risk in future I have agreed.
He talked about last week august or second week of September due to needing the colorectal surgeon. But his nurse came through today with 18 July as a confirmed date today!
Here we go again...

hi. How you feeling today? Surgery is scary and I really didn't want to but it has really helped me and that's only with them tackling some of it ( I was in a far worse state than the previous surgeon had described or the various scans had shown).
don't let the earlier date spook you, I got a call on the Friday to say could I go in on the Wednesday, it was an extra clinic and they had a slot. Have you had surgery before for your Endo?
Thanks for replying x. I guess an earlier date makes for less worry time. I had a diagnosis and treatment lap in December, it was my first op.
I was told i'd just need 1 to 2 weeks recovery but I was so ill that l was off work for 5 weeks and probably only really recovered a month ago. That's partly why I am so scared.
This time they are saying a minimum of 6 weeks recovery time so God only knows what I will be like as I was a mess last the round.
Good luck with your op. I saw my consultant last week and was offered 1st July as a potential date amongst others. I've gone for the next date for various reasons and the 1st just felt too soon for me. As you say less worry time though. Are you sorted practically? Got people around you to help?
Hopefully your recovery won't be as bad as you're expecting and I hope it's worthwhile in terms of the improvement to your health. Endo is an absolute b*gger.
hi. What treatment did they do in Dec? Are you being seen at a bsge centre?
I took about 6/8 weeks to feel physically stronger and more myself from my surgery in September but it was an emotional rollercoaster as well as we literally had no idea about endometriosis and I also really high tumor markers which had to be investigated.
we have a friend who is a surgeon and I mentioned to him how worried I was about having another operation ( I also have sight issues which can be affected by aesthetic and medication) and he was brilliant and said as far as the operation its self is concerned for the entire time every one is focused on your well being and safety and you are constantly monitored and in the hands of experts. For recovering he was adamant that I needed to rest more this time around ( I had to be busy last time it was the only way I could cope with it and in hindsight it did more harm than good) so this time around I made sure I have been very well behaved, I stayed with my parents for two weeks and properly rested and the difference in the two recoveries is huge. I've been home a few days but will carry on taking my time for another four weeks. If they say 6 weeks take your time with it and if you need more than that don't worry about it, your body will have to deal with the shock of surgery and then will need the time to heal so don't rush it.
I told them I was worried and they couldn't of been nicer if they tried, I felt safe and the anesthetic guy was brilliant.
hopefully in the long run by having the op it will reduce your pain so you can get on with life 😊.
