Has anyone had Prostap injections in anywhere other than their bottom?

I'm just wondering because I'm due to start another course and would prefer it to be injected in my arm or tum, as it says in the leaflet. It's only because I've had enough of getting my bottom out for nurses/doctors etc! 😃

How many injections have you had hun? I had 7 injections altogether om alternative sides of my stomach near ovaries I'm now disabled because of it. I'd recommend you stop getting prostap asap. It's chemotherapy hun used on aggressive cancer prostate cancer patients. I run a group on Facebook too #lupronvictims my name is Cheryl newton

I've already had 2 courses previously and do really well on it, it's the only thing that helps my endometriosis x

I have mine done in the top of my arm, switching sides every month. It does ache a little afterwards but that usually goes within 30 mins xx

Hi

I've had them in my stomach, and top of my arms.

You are supposed to rotate the injection site every time x

I have them in my arm rotating arms each month. Just ask your nurse if you can have it in your arm or stomach. Very few injections have to be given in a specific place usually they need to be given into either muscle or fat but there's plenty of places for in the body for both options.

I think I read somewhere it needs to be into muscle. Of the ladies that have had theirs in their arms, has it worked effectively for you (stopping bleeding etc)? Xxx

I had it under the skin on my tummy, into the podge. It did stop the bleeding, though sadly I still had pain :/ I had endured 5 shots of decapeptyl in the bum though so you have my sympathy.

Yes it has worked fantastically for me. I had my coil out a week after my first injection, had a heavy bleed a few days after that lasted about 10 days then nothing since (i'm now a week after my 3rd injection). My pain has really eased off, I feel happier and more refreshed than i have in years. The only problem is hot flushes, but they are not unmanageable, I have been prescribed Tibolone but not yet taken it. I guess everyone is different though and my advice would be to give it a try. Good luck.

On the whole it has stopped the bleeding although every now and then I get a little light bloody type discharge.

I can only advise you and try warn you. I had a great response at first from my first three injections. I thought I had my life back but then my health deteriorated fast. I run a group with lots of women who are similar to me

Now they are disabled it's chemotherapy used for aggressive prostate cancer. It's real name is leuperinide acetate. It helps then osteoporosis sets in I need a wheelchair now I collapse. I have narcolepsy type symptoms I fall asleep out of the blue while eating walking even in the middle of conversations. I will never be able to do anything on my own I can't even bathe on my own in case I drown. My life is ruined. I have visual disturbances everything looks curved. My brain doesn't work like it used to I stammer and stutter and shake visually. I can no longer write I'm in pain agonising pain from head to toe. Bone pain because of the endometriosis. I used to be a busy mum wife and recruitment consultant now I am useless to be honest

I hope you listen to my warning or at least research it. It looks like the best thing ever at first but then you deteriorating fast. My bowels no longer work. I don't mean constipation I mean my bowels keep storing poo. I can not move it. I've ballooned from a size 6 to a size 18 because of this. My health is getting worse every week

Myself and others are trying to get this tool off the market. It's already been marketed for juvenile arthritis and problems with infantile arthritis autism. It's basically been used in a lot of ways because of the money there is to be made out of giving it to patients

£600 PER INJECTION PER PATIENT I HAD 7 INJECTIONS

you don't have to be a mathematician to work that out.

Please look for yourself by all means all the evidence is online you just have to look.

I'm 38 and I feel like my life is over to be honest. Please don't make the same mistake I did

Yes, I had 6 months of prostap into my arm (swapping arm each month) and more recently 6 months of goserelin (which I think is just a different name) into my abdomen - again alternate sides, pinch of tummy fat just below tummy button level. Both a bit uncomfortable, think I'd choose arm if I had a choice

Hi I have been having the injection for 15 years. I usually have it in the top of my thigh. I have had it in my arm, but this can be quite stiff afterwards, I have had it in my stomach but found it very uncomfortable. I would recommend the top of your leg and just alternate every time,
