Help I've found a lump πŸ˜”

Hi all,

I've found a lump under my left arm pit bear my breast. I don't know what to do as I feel when I go to my Gp at the minute I'm not taken seriously and it's so hard to get an appointment in the first place.

Would you leave it and see how it goes it's really painful to touch so I'm hoping it's just a cyst πŸ˜”

Joely xx

Hi you really do need to get it checked. The chances are it's like you say just a cyst, but please get it checked, even if you go to a walk in centre or well woman clinic. The long you leave it the more stressed and worried you'll get. Believe me I know. I found a lump in my breast when I was 10 . Didn't tell anyone till I was 15. It was just a breast mouse (harmless cyst) but got so big it was visible and became painful. Finally had it removed when I was 18. Best thing I ever did. The relief I felt was amazing.

Get checked out just to put you mind to rest.

Try not to worry. I know it's easier said than done, but the chances of it being anything serious are small.

Thank you jean, sorry to hear you suffered as well.

I just worry that people won't believe me all the time πŸ˜” it's really painful I think I will get it checked in the morning to see what they say else I will worry the longer I leave it xx

Hello. I agree with the others to get it checked out. Could be an inflamed lymph nodes as there are lots of these in the arm pit area. X

Best of luck at your appointment, if you are struggling to get a GP appointment IO would advise going through 111, although not ideal they can sometimes get you seen quicker when it's as important as this. Hope your appointment goes ok xxx

Thank you all I've come away from my doctors appointment even more stressed out πŸ˜” I thought my appointment was with a GP but it turned out it was with a nurse practitioner, she examined me instantly felt the lump then asked me questions 'where are you in your cycle' etc to which I replied well I don't actually know as everything is all over the place at the minute she said I don't think you need to worry I said well I am worried and then she said you need to see a GP I'll book you in I said perfect thank you then she tells me the next available appointment is 1st June πŸ˜” told me to take paracetamol and use a cold compress and hopefully it will be gone by then!! I came out and rang my mum and like I explained to her the lump is there it's not going to just disappear overnight πŸ˜” even more fed up and stressed now xx

Hi Hun. I know it's hard but if they really thought it was anything sinister you would be rushed through the system. I know that doesn't help much at the moment. The reason she asked about cycle is because with like what I had where you are in your cycle can effect its size. From ovulation to when period started mine was huge but would then shrink back down.

The fact you are struggling to lift your arm is a worry. Like Katrina said it could be a infected lymph node which I imagine would be very painful. If you are able to , take ibrofen to help with inflammation

I'm so sorry you have this on top of everything else Hun, but you're not alone. I'm always here if you want to talk.
