Stopping the pill before diagnosis

I was diagnosed cervical erosion about 4 years ago after mid cycle bleeding while on the pill. After the bleeding continued and was getting more frequent I decided to come off the pill thinking it would re-set my body and get rid of the erosion. How wrong! I bled far more and heavier, I couldn't tell when the spotting stopped and my period started. I also had bad cramps, one extremely horrendous one after having an orgasm. I felt like I was in labour. So after 2 months I went back on the pill. My nurse thinks I might have endo and has made an appointent for me to see the Dr but now I'm back on the pill would I need to come off it again to get diagnosed? Does anyone else have a similar experience? Dreading it!
