Can someone help me with my report?

So I just had my lap today. Apart from the horrific gas pains, I'm doing ok.

The doctor did not explain anything to me after my surgery and I was just released with a discharge note, which makes no sense to me.

Could someone help me out. Thanks in advance! 😊

Hi. It's good your feeling ok. Peppermint tea helps with the gas pains.

They put dye into your tubes and it was seen bilaterally (both sides) so I think your tubes are ok. EUA means examined under anaesthetic. The verres needle is an instrument they put into your abdomen first to put the gas in, and the figures they have put on is about the gas they put into your abdomen to inflate it. Adhesiolysis is the removal or dividing of adhesions as they found a filmy adhesion on the left pelvic wall. Follow up with gp or clinic I would guess.

Hope this helps x

Thank you so much for your reply Stephkp. Makes more sense now 😊. So does this mean I don't have endometriosis? Also could these adhesions have cause my constant pelvic pain and digestive problems for months?

I'm not sure. They may say as it was only in that one place it's not technically endo or it's at a low stage but it could be the cause of your pain. If the adhesions were attached to your bowel that could explain the digestive issues but your lap report doesn't mention anything about that. When you have a follow up they may have more info for you. When you go it would be worth asking them if they checked round the rest of your abdomen. Hopefully if they have either removed or at least divided the adhesion you should get some relief from your pain. Has it been going on for some time now? x

My follow up is in a few weeks time, so I will definitely bring these questions up with my consultant. It's so frustrating that I was told nothing in the hospital 😒

My pelvic pain started last year around January. Following visit to a&e and a scan, they could see I had a hemmhoragic cyst that was bleeding in itself on my right ovary. However the pain since then never subsided. I get a constant dull pain and sometimes very sharp acute pain plus lots of digestive issues, mostly loose bms and nausea. I've also lost a lot of weight since last year. Funny thing is that the pain I have is mostly on the left side?!

I have no idea where these adhesions might have formed from. I've never had surgery before this in my life! 😐

It seems to be they don't talk to you fully post surgery as you are still under the effects of the drugs. I only got to speak to my surgeon post op as I had a bad reaction to some drugs they gave me and the nurses were worried.

It might have been caused by the cyst you had if it haemorrhaged at all into your pelvis. Was the cyst on your left ovary? If you have digestive issues and the surgeon didn't think the adhesions were the cause of your pain, they may refer to to a gastroenterologist. x
