Endometriosis laparoscopy : Hi everyone I... - Endometriosis UK
Endometriosis laparoscopy
I just recently underwent Endo ablation this past Monday for my stage 4. I had my first lap when I was 15 and I was told then I would never have a child. I did manage to have one but it was after Lupron and several years of taking oral contraceptives in an attempt to starve it off long enough to conceive. Being PG seemed to help for a couple years after. I had a partial hysterectomy (kept ovaries) bc the disease has spread everywhere and we thought it would help reduce symptoms. Lasted about 5 years. Last year I went into premature ovarian failure, so I assumed that bc I had reached menapause that would be the end of it. I was wrong.
This past Monday they went back in and it's growing on everything. They lasers what was safe to remove but I am sure I will have to try Lupron again. Unfortunately for severe cases like mine, it's a matter of maintaining and doing the best with what I have.
If you are TTC your best chance of this happening is in the first 6 months after a lap so I would advise you to just give it a go now. I know how stressful it all is I also have stage 4 and have had 5 procedures now, we are hoping to have a baby soon and have started TTC. I wish you the best of luck
