I am a 17 year old female, 5'6 and weigh between 100-120 pounds (my weight fluctuates). I've had my period about.. 6-7 times in my whole life? And I've been to the doctor about it but he said to come back when I'm 18.. I get super bad pains in my lower back when my sister and mother are on theirs.. (knowing to get in sync with each other). The only place I'm bleeding from every month is my nose due to frequent nosebleeds. I'm just wondering if I should get checked again seeing the pain has become pretty harsh and to see what's up with everything? Any suggestions on what is wrong with me? 😫👌 Thank you. X

No period, but I get period symptoms?
Youve said you've had your period about 6/7 times but this leads me to question when was your first period? It takes 4-5 years for a girls periods to become regular, which means the reason your missing them could simply be a hormonal imbalance. Testosterone is often the reason for missed periods while estrogen (imbalance with endometriosis) causes heavy long periods. High testosterone is a sign of PCOS too.
At the same time your 5'6 and underweight judging by what you've listed (I'm 5'3, small frame and underweight at 105 pounds). Being underweight can also cause you to not have periods, I wonder if your doctor can refer you to a nutritionist. If you are eating properly though I would get your thyroid checked out since being underweight can be a sign of a thyroid issue.
An absence can also be due to anemia.
Can you get a hormonal blood test done? This will show if you are ovulating (which you need to do in order to have a period) and if you have a hormonal imbalance. Ask for thyroid, LH, FSH, estrogen, progesterone, testosterone.
Are you having nosebleeds when they have they're having periods? Because if the nosebleeds are happening all the time that's a completely different problem going on that needs to be checked out. My friends brother had lukemia and his first symptom was frequent nosebleeds.
The pain could also be unrelated too but ask for an ultrasound to make sure. What other period symptoms do you get? Acne, cravings, cramps?
Hope this helps
