Is breakthrough bleeding on the depo shot the same or different to regular bleeding ?

Having first been suspected endo by Drs accompanied by excessive bleeding and pain in stomach/pelvis a long with feeling horrific and blood in stool - fun. I have bleed more times than I haven't for the past four months, it seems like regular bleeding - dark but also red occasionally in colour but for random periods of time for example, bleeding for 10 days, stopping for 3 and then starting again. Is breakthrough bleeding on the depo shot like my dr now has concluded or due to having endo.

I have the drs tomorrow so would like to have an idea because I can't believe I would have such bad stomach pains pretty much all the time and bleeding like there is no tomorrow just because of the depo shot ?!

Thanks in advance ,

Maxine
