Sleeping issues with mirena...

Hello there...

I was diagnosed with endometriosis at age 21, I have had 3 laparoscopies since (now 26). I am on my second mirena coil which was fitted in Jan 2016.

I have been feeling so exhausted and drained every day and wasn't sure why, I put it down to the endometriosis but I'm now wondering if it's the mirena coil causing it?

Immy brain always seems a bit foggy and I'm very forgetful and I feel I have lost the bounce in my step and just feeling low and tired.

I recently got a fit bit and that is showing very restless sleep. I have tried a 'kalms one at night tablet' to see if that helped but didn't make the pattern any better and I felt hungover and foggy the next day at work (even more than normal!)

Just looking for some advice before I attempt the GP as I hate going so always put it off until my symptoms are horrendous and I can't cope anymore!

Hi. I was wondering whether Mirena effects sleep also. I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia earlier this year and was given amiptripylene to help my sleep. Prior to my most recent lap 5 weeks ago i was sleeping really well but since my lap and mirena insertion I've really struggled- but also been in a lot of pain so maybe its the pain as opposed to a direct effect of the mirena. i have an appt with my doc next week to discuss upping the dose to try and get back into a good sleep routine. Im so tired and emotional if this is the mirena i can't cope with that! Good luck and hope you get sorted.

I was exactly the same, had my mirena out two weeks ago. Much less pain since and starting to sleep better already. I hope this helps xxx

Hi tanni, I hadn't heard of that side effect but I hope not, I just had mine fitted last week and already suffer with long-standing insomnia.
