Hi everyone, I'm new here. I've had surgery last week. I have stage 4 endometriosis and had a 8cm cyst on my right ovary and a 5cm cyst on my left ovary. They removed everything and also cleared my fallopian tubes. About 3 weeks before the surgery, i had my first Zoladex injection. This really helped and got rid of a lot of the pain. I had my second Zoladex injection a few days ago. They now want me to continue these monthly Zoladex injections until March, when i have my follow up appointment with the doctor and after that start ivf.
I am not sure whether i want to continue with these injections as you can't get pregnant on this (we have been trying for 1,5 years), but it does keep the endo away until we will start ivf. Had anyone been in the same situation? How soon can endometriosis get back? Would you stay on Zoladex injections until March, or would you try it naturally, with the risk of it growing back?

Hi. I am on the injection also, and had my period on the first injection and Missed my period on the second injection, my pain isn't getting any better at all on them :/ I already have surgery a couple of years ago but wouldn't give me it again until I tried these injections.. I didn't know you couldn't get pregnant whilst on the injection as I was told to still use protection as it's a high risk of pregnancy? Hope it helps x
Hi, I have been on Zolodex injections twice before, both between operations to keep the area clear. My personal opinion (please remember I am no Doc and this is only my opinion) I would not have another injection if I was in your place. If they are going to start your ivf treatment in March it would only be three natural cycles and in all honestly as you have had a lap and zolodex it may take your body a little time to regulate again. There are obviously pros and cons for you to consider. If you have more zolodex your endo wont grow at all pro! but your body is not functioning and so when you come to do ivf you need to wait for your cycle to come back, con. I had my last injection in August and I am still waiting for my first period so that we can try to conceve. I have been on Zolodex a lot longer that you 10months on this coarse and so I don't mean to scare you. But no one told me this could happen before I started taking Zolodex had I known I would probably would not have had the last 4 injections and chanced a little growth returning. If your ivf appointment was longer away I would be more inclined to say have the Zolodex but honestly three cycles I don't think you will have much growth back.
I wish you the best of luck with your ivf whichever way you decide
