Possible uti 2 days before laparoscopy

Hi, I am due a laparoscopy in 2 days and think I may have a uti. Do I need to advise consultant and will opp be cancelled thanks xx

Could you start on some antibiotics from the GP straight away? I was tested for UTI before my operation and was subsequently given antibiotics to take. My operation went ahead as normal.

Go to the doctors and get ur urine dipped !!! 😀

I had a urine infection diagnosed at my pre-op a few days before my op - they did my op and I had IV antibiotics while I was under and I didn't have a catheter as they said that may have made it worse. Had a couple of weeks of antibiotics and few urine tests as it wouldn't go but all OK after a few weeks. I would speak to your GP or consultant so you can be tested xxx
