I'm 23 and I was diagnosed with endo after a lap back in 2013. Since then I've been on an array of different pills and eventually got a mirena coil two years ago. It was great for a year, stopped my periods completely and I had next to no pain but at the end of 2015 everything came back with a vengeance.
I went to my GP who sent me for loads of different tests which showed I have many PCOS like cysts in my ovaries and raised LH levels. Because I am already on contraception and I had been on the pill for 8 years prior to the coil my GP doesn't know what to do now - and I am very confused about what all this means.
I'm currently waiting to see a gynaecologist to hopefully get another laparoscopy but it is a very long wait - 7 months from when I was referred by my GP but she is hoping to get me a sooner appointment as I am in constantly in pain and exhausted and she is concerned by the sudden development of PCOS.
Does anyone have any advice or experience with a similar situation? I've read up on PCOS online and the majority of the information is either directed towards people with the condition who are overweight or trying to conceive - I don't fit into either of these categories.
