Hello ladies, I may post this question in the Infertility Network UK board too, but wondering if anyone has experienced this scenario and could give me some advice.
I'm days away from having our first baby (from an IVF FET due to severe endo) and I'm hoping to avoid my dreaded endo returning as I have been marvellously pain free for nine months. I know that the Mirena coil is often suggested for people with endo, but I'm wondering if this is a good idea if we want to try for another IVF round within the next 18 months?
Many thanks

I'm in exactly that position. Had excision surgery followed by a successful FET, had our son who is now 15 months and had a coil fitted about 3 months ago after being on Cerelle since his birth pretty much. My endo has not come back with a vengeance at all and I plan to try another cycle next year so will look at getting my coil removed a month or so before. Hope this helps.
Thanks so much for replying! Really helpful. Do you mind me asking why you didn't get the coil straight away and why you went onto Cerelle instead after birth. Was it due to breastfeeding?
Do you know I can't quite remember whether the GP said I couldn't have it straightaway or not. I think she did so we went for Cerelle as I can't take the combined pill anyway and Cerelle meant I could BF. I still have breakthrough bleeding on the coil so it isn't perfect for me but has certainly stopped my endo progressing again. Best wishes for your new arrival!
