Hi Ladies, Im new here & just have an endo question. I have recently had the Mirena removed after having 2 lots over 10 yrs. I wondered what peoples experiences of bleeding following removal were as Im in quite a bad way atm! Very heavy bleeding, fresh blood 5 days later still.

I had very heavy bleeding and clotting after mine was removed - the consultant said it should stop within a fortnight - it took a bit less than this (7-10 days as I recall) but I do remember being quite shocked by the amount of bleeding.
Thank you, yes I think I just scared my teen son for life cos he walked in on me having blood running down my legs on the loo. Poor kid.
Interesting conversation followed though as he asked me again about endometriosis and a memory he had of me having a ruptured ovary due to it while in Holland & having to come home in an ambulance across countries afterwards. ( Great travel insurance!)
