Hello ladies. First post.

I'm a 35yr old, have 2 kids 7 & 4. I had heavy periods as a teenager that settled but after my 2nd child my periods have become increasingly heavier. I've always had cramps but up until about a year ago, a bad day required 2 paracetamol.

All that has changed! The pain is ridiculous. I start cramping up to 3 days before period appears (low back pain), I'll spot for 3 or 4 days, then have a brown discharge then full blown period. Days 2 and 3 are heaviest. But it's the pain. I feel (and look) so bloated, it feels like trapped wind. It hurts to move and I get random stabbing pains in my vagina and back passage. It hurts to peer for the first couple of days and I usually have the runs too. The pain lasts for about 4 or 5 days and the bleeding about 6 or 7.

Gp thinkshe fibroids or endo. Had abdominal scan which showed nothing. Gp thinks a TV would be more thorough ( I'm overweight).

I'm not sure.

Is it a possible for endo to show up at my age (I had no fertility issues) and does this sound in any way 'common' for endo?

Thank you for reading and for any help or advice you can give.

hi finlayargyle,

I'm no expert - still new to this. My gyny problems only started age 45 after having 2 kids.

I have a suspected endo cyst on my ovary. I held off surgery for 3 years but now reluctantly considering it due to nagging back pain. I live in Glasgow.

Sorry you are in acute pain. More investigations sound like a good idea.
