Endometriosis and trying to have children

I'm only 20 so it's a bit of a far away thought but I wanted to know what it is about endometriosis that causes infertility? Is it when scar tissue or lesions are blocking the tubes or is there another reason? Should I try and get my eggs stored?

Hi it depends on the location of were endometriosis is I had aheadions on pouch of Douglas tubes and ovarys were unaffected had endo in my womb but most woman can fall pregnant with endo I had my son nearly three years ago but symptoms of endo usually ease during pregnancy but tend to come back once the baby born if u do have a lap ask the specialist that is doing it to put dye through the tubes sometimes that help unblock them but if that fails to help u conceive the next thing they would do is Probarly Ivf but sometimes long waiting list for it xx

Hi curl 123

There are various reasons and complications. I have severe endo, 3 laparoscopy's my bowels are stuck to my uterus and back wall. I have scar tissue at the front of my pelvic area, on my left ovary and I have a big adhesion at the top of my vagina. I am covered in tissue over my bowels, ovaries, back wall.

I had my last laparoscopy in September 2015, they didn't release all of my bowel as this would mean a stoma and removal of part of my bowel. They didn't removed the big adhesion either as this would cause complications.

I'm 36 and they knew we wanted to at least try for a family.

They offered us IVF if we needed it which was good to know. I had fertility tests in November and I am the high end of low fertility because of both my age and the endo.

We decided to try naturally, you know give it a go, you have to or you'll never know.

I'm 18 weeks pregnant! Miraculously we fell first time.

Speak to your consultant. One of the first things mine said to me when I asked about my eggs (as my cyst was the size of an orange covering the left ovary) women are like aeroplanes, they are fully functional on one engine!! I didn't know what to make of it!! Now I can see the other side.

Think of the future but don't convince yourself of the worst for every eventuality. Ask questions and take it as it comes, everyone is different but write everything down xx
