Meralgia Paraesthetica after surgery

Hi everyone

I had a laproscopic hysterectomy at the end of November. Recovery is going really well, however I've developed severe pain, with pins and needless and burning sensation down the outside of my thighs. Looking at the symptoms it looks likely to be Meralgia Paraesthetica (compression of the one of the nerve bundles in the back going in to the leg). Has anyone else had this, and if so what did they find that helped it?

Any advice gratefully received!

Nala

Hello there

Me too! I has extensive surgery to remove severe endo mid nov. Ut was laproscopic. Since then I have had pain/burning on the front left thigh. It started off as numbness in the hospital and turned into pins and needles and burning. It seems to be coming from my left ovary area. I told the surgeon in hospital and he said it couldn't be nerve damage as the nerves associated with that area are elsewhere (?). I was thinking that maybe its because every thing is inflamed inside. Oh I don't know. I'm seeing him next week so hopefully will get an answer I can share.
