Good morning ladies...Hope today isn't to much of a painful day for you.... I know no one can tell me what to do but I am starting to feel if I am going to do the right thing. It's my pre op today for my hysterectomy which I am having on the 21st Dec. The thing that worries me is if I have this op will it come back? I am 46 and had two beautiful daughters. Truly blessed I no but it's the fact that everything will be gone. Will I still feel the same? I have been put on sick by the gyno as she thinks it's attached itself to a nerve in my leg which stops me from walking.surely if I have this op I will get my life back won't I?

Am I doing the right thing?...
Hi I can only tell you from my experience, but I'm 35 and I had my hysterectomy last January. I had to push for it as I was told it wouldn't help and that I was too young. So glad I didn't listen, only we know our own bodies, we can get advice from people but no one but you decide.
I'm SO glad I had my hysterectomy, obviously I had the aches and pains of getting over the major operation, but since June I've been relatively pain free,so it was defiantly the right choice for me.
Having 6 months pretty much pain free after 21 years of pain every day,has been fantastic.I hope everything goes well with your op and recovery, remember don't expect too much from yours for a while after your op, its a huge operation and you need to not push yourself.
I had everything out ten years ago (December 2004) when I was 31; I'm 42 now and despite having no pain at all for about seven years, the pain has returned and is actually worse now than before. The doctors can't confirm it is due to endo because they won't operate - I had twelve surgeries previous to the hysterectomy and they told me then that any more would result in too much damaging scar tissue and there were too many already. This isn't the case for everyone and I don't regret it at all - though unfortunately none of my pregnancies came to full term so I've no children (though I love my cats).
It is your decision and although it can (and does) return, the severity - like endo in general - is different for all; I know of several women who have had real reductions and no return at all of pain whilst others have some minor discomfort but that's it. A number also are like me and find it returns to almost pre-surgery levels.
However, as I said, I don't regret it and I'd do it all again....
Aww sorry to hear it has returned and your in a great deal of pain again... You have certainly been through it haven't you?... Hope you get sorted out, no body deserves this kind of pain. I had my pre op yesterday, I am now just counting down the days to my op... (11 days to go)..... Thanks foir getting in touch, wishing you well as soon as poss x
