Came across this today and just thought I'd share:
Lena Dunham raises awareness: Came across... - Endometriosis UK
Lena Dunham raises awareness
I have read the actual newsletter and it is very well written. It also has an article written by Padma Laxmi too and how she is raising awareness of the disease.
Jesus Christ, I made the mistake of reading the comments on the daily mail. I'm not a fan of Lena but ANY publicity regarding Endo is needed. One of the commenters has said every woman goes through this. I'd like to know the last time that woman spent the last 5 days like I have - agonising pain that codeine, tramadol and ibuprofen combined doesn't touch, bedridden, collapsed on the way back from the bathroom, repeatedly sick and unable to eat anything but plain biscuits. It makes me so angry! Particularly as I feel grateful it now only lasts one week for me and it used to be daily, and I know others still suffer with it constantly. Oh and the first treatment I was put on 20 years ago gave me high blood pressure for the rest of my life and so I can't take any hormone-related meds for Endo but according to another commenter on there it's treatable. And I've been threatened with dismissal at every job I've had due to being ill and now I'm unemployed due to it.
Sorry ladies - rant over! All the more reason for more publicity about this condition I guess xx
That infuriated me too. Admittedly mostly things to do with the daily mail can send me off ranting but that comment you mention drove me to register with them at 4am this morning after a night of pain and no sleep. However my comment didn't appear and I can't be arsed to wind myself up again reading that idiots comment..... And breathe.... x
Glad to know I'm not alone! I almost registered to comment after being up all night in pain but took a deep breathe instead. If I start replying to horrible, ignorant comments on the daily mail, well, I probably wouldn't have time to do anything else xx
