3rd op, ovarian drilling, removed endo.

Just wanting a bit of advice. I had my 3rd lap yesterday in the space of two years. They have found that the endo has spread to my pouch of Douglas, bowel, bladder and more has came back in my womb. I'm only 21 and very worried about my fertility! All I've ever wanted since I was young is to be a mum, but I'm wanting to wait till the correct time and in the correct situation to give the child the best I can instead of just basic. I'm going to be starting metformin to help control my PCOS which is also pretty bad. I don't have a cycle at all. Just wanting some advice off people in a similar situation.

Many thanks Charlotte x

Hi Charlotte,

I am in a pretty similar situation to you but I'm 27 still haven't had any children yet but looking to soon. If you don't feel like it is the right time to have children yet then maybe wait a couple more years. Even though it is scary for us to think we could be infertile if we wait longer my drs told me after I've healed from my next lap surgery to start trying.

If you are in a position to have children now ans have alot of support around you then maybe look into it in the next year. After having 3 lap ops at your age that can be scary and who knows what it's doing to our organs.

Wishing you all the best

Tamara xx

Thank you for your lovely reply. I'm a pretty mature 21 year old I own my own house and have a really good relationship and a lot of support but I'm going back to college and uni to do nursing and wanted to be qualified before I having children, but after been told it has spread in this last op it's made me think maybe sooner then later.

When is your next lap? Are you going to follow the Drs advice and start trying am just so worried about it

Xx

My next lap is beginning of 2016, I think I will try at some point next year.

You would only need one year out really then can go back to college and uni.

Best thing I think is sit down with ur partner and make a plan once you both decide what is best.

Also I don't know if you have tried it but Raspberry Leaf Tea does seem to help with pains, you can get clipper brand from tesco.

I'm going through a similar sort of situation as you, after just having my first lap and being diagnosed I now have to make the choice between going down the route of helping with the pain or fertility clinic.

I'm 26. So a little older than you but I'm now worried if I do wait a little longer to go down the fertility route it won't happen.

Maybe if you decide how isn't the right time try looking into freezing your eggs?

It's a really hard decision and I think what Tamara said you just need to sit down and talk it through. This is what me and my partner will be doing nearer my next appt X
