I felt better 2 days after my lap and went back to work part time 5 days later. That was about 6 weeks ago and I truly feel AMAZING now, so there are some good stories out there too

My surgeon recommended sugar free gum and peppermint tea for the wind. Only tried the tea and it worked a treat.... much to my partners delight!!

Hope all goes well xx

I also agree that peppermint tea worked wonders for wind, I was drinking loads post-op. I think it depends on how much is done when you have a lap. If it's just to diagnose then it won't affect you for aslong as if they remove endo too. I have had two lengthy laps but wouldn't consider them to be negative experiences. Just be prepared to possibly feel quite tired/ drained and allow yourself enough time to recover as everyone is different. Good luck

Thanks for that - i feel slightly better about it now! I'm hoping to go back to work after a few days i only sit at a desk so shouldnt be too much of a problem. What about exercise? How have people getting on with that and getting back into it? Now i do 3 classes a week, high intensity, which i know i'll not be able to do for a while but wondering if walking, light exercise in the gym etc would be ok?

Hi, I had my second lap in August for diagnosis and treatment. I'd expected to be back on my feet within a couple of days as I had with the previous one (they found nothing.) It wasn't the case this time but I don't think I had a negative experience. Like Wind_mill said it probably depends on what happens during the lap. I was off work for two weeks in total (they found severe stage 4 Endo.) Recovery took a lot longer than I expected. Rest as much as you can. I also swear by Peppermint for wind. I took cocodamol for the first couple of days and found taking Senna helped to head off any problems with painkillers may have caused when going to the loo!! I didn't go back to the gym for about four weeks following mine, I was just too sore and exhausted!! Good Luck!!
