Job interview/endo diagnostic lap.

I have a job interview coming up next week for a job I would love to get. I've also had a letter come through that my laparoscopy should be scheduled for May. If I get the job this could collide. So my question is do I tell them? If I do do I do it at the interview? if I'm offered the job? I don't want anything to jepodise my chances!

Hi there, I have a similar problem at the moment! I have been job hunting for weeks and just been to an interview last night. They called me this morning to tell me that they would like to give me the job which is great but it wouldn't start until June.

I also have an appointment at my fertility clinic to discuss my next IVF cycle and also if I need more surgery first as it looks like my Endo might be back 2,5 years after my last surgery

So all of this collides as well! I was honest and upfront with my potential new employer and told them about the surgery etc and health issues. They still want me to work for them. I am just not sure if I can do it physically as the hrs are crazy 55-60 hours per week looking after 2 hyperactive toddlers under 3 plus cooking etc.

So I told them I will think about it and get back to them after my next clinic appointment in 2 weeks. They said they will keep interviewing other people as well and we will see what happens. But I think I would rather go for a job with less hours anyway

Anyway I find it's sometimes best to be honest and upfront but don't tell them at the interview, wait until they offer you the job Hope this helps xx

Go for the interview and see the interview results. Then you can decide.

If it helps I'm a store manager and id much prefer any potential member of staff be up front and honest with me.

Legally they're not allowed to discriminate against you.

When I joined the company I now work for i explained about endo from the off.

Well done on the interview! I would say mention it when accepting the job, they usually ask about booked holidays and commitments at that point.

Thanks everyone for the replies. I like to be honest and would hate to have someone think I lied 😳 I think I will do as has been said and if they offer me the job I will mention it then. Awh good luck ines on deciding that does seem like a huge amount of work.

This takes a lot of my mind though as I could stop thinking about what was best to do/say
