Funnily enough this isn't the title of a long lost Sherlock Holmes story but a serious questions... I went to the consultant this week to follow up after my lap, and she mentioned that they couldn't see my left ovary during the procedure. She didn't seem to think this was anything to worry about, however on my last two ultrasounds my left ovary has also not been visible!
So a question for you all- is this common? I'm worried it wasn't visible because it's adhered somewhere it shouldn't. The doc seemed to think it was just my bowel getting in the way but should it be doing so time after time? I know my organs tend to move around a little more than they should because I have hypermobility syndrome (my uterus and cervix both move a bit more than average) so it might be to do with that.
Any suggestions or advice greatly appreciated!

Hi. I had similar issues my left ovary couldn't be seen and said nothing worry about and after years of emdo problems they relised my bowel was stuck over it due to adhesions and my ovary was stuck in wrong position so two years ago I had my ovary and my tubes removed. I had to have open surgery because of where my bowel was and didn't want damage it. I have so much adhesions that I will never be right. I was good for about 12 months after surgery but now feel I'm back to square one. I hope you get sorted and that I've helped you abit xx
My left ovary is mushed up under my bowel and not visible at all, I had key hole and they couldn't access it or see it and said there was probably only a tiny remnant left due to the endom sticking my bits down.
I do get pain sometimes trying to go to the toilet and during my horrible long periods. My egg count is low too, but that's age as well as only running on one ovary. I don't know whether you have or want kids or how old you are. But if you can don't leave it too long to try. You can get pregnant naturally with only one ovary functioning as long as yr tube is clear on the right side too and you are ovulating ok. I left it too late to try for a family (I married late) and unfortunately had to have IVF twice, both times didn't work. So please bear that in mind cos it's heart breaking. But don't panic if yr young as you have time on yr side and you still have one working right ovary. If you do have another lap they may be able to free up the left ovary too, as yr bowel may have shifted. Just don't let endometriosis ruin your fertility like it did mine
