I've recently been put on the zoladex injection and the side effects include a lack of sex drive and painful sex this is having massive effects on my rekationship as my partner is feeling unloved can anyone help

Hi , I don't know about zolodex but I have stage 3 ? endometriosis that causes alot of pain. I use the pill Qlaira to control it. The active ingredient is dienogest. I was reading online last night that this was as effective in a study as stronger hormonal treatments in treating pain and does not effect sex drive. I take the Qlaira continiously and I dont take the estrogen only pills. It has worked very well for me and I have had bad reactions to other pills. The study I read might have been a dienogest only pill. But the estrogen in the Qlaira agrees with me and did not make me feel flat and yuck like so many did. Good luck, I understand about bad reactions to hormones & how it can impact relationships I've had it too. Bye

Hi again,

The article I read was titled 'new endometriosis treatment 'safer' than standard therapy. The name of it in UK was Visanne I think. I had just googled Qlaira endometriosis. I hope that I am allowed to say that. It is quite expensive especially when you skip the estrogen pills and take it continiously as I do with my doctor's guidance. I don't have a cycle anymore by doing that and it seems to have stopped the endo symptoms because of that over about 3 years of use. Hope info helps if this is an alternative to things like zolodex?
