How do you define your endo?

I think there's a lot of confusion for me when I speak to others about having endo. I usually just refer to it as an 'illness'. I dont really know if that's the technical term for it.. What does everyone else refer to it as?

I've only just been diagnosed, but I refer to it as a condition as well. I just say briefly that the lining of my uterus has grown elsewhere and most people don't ask any more questions haha.

I tell people that I have internal bleeding in my pelvis every month - they seem to get that.. Had it 30 years and realised people don't want a biology lesson. More people know what it is nowadays than back then.

I usually refer to it as a 'condition' or sometimes 'disease' depending on my mood :)

It's classed as a disease as its a disorder of a function which causes symptoms!! X

Hmm I have started referring to it as a chronic condition (which I suppose technically it is). As it's a long term thing. And if anyone asks what that is I lay some knowledge down! "A chronic condition is a human health condition or disease that is persistent or otherwise long-lasting in its effects or a disease that comes with time". Generally I say that its when the lining of the wombs instead of being expelled normally went backwards into the pelvic cavity... and started growing almost like little tumours. (and so on).

I just had this dilemma at work - its getting so bad I am taking time off or being very quiet because I am in pain. I called it a condition (sometimes I say illness) and described it as cells moving around and collecting in the wrong place. (I have endo and adenomyosiss, this description seemed to cover both well enough)!

For me it's definitely a disease......it's no different to cancer in the way that it spreads, attaches itself to certain organs and grows....it's horrendous, I hate it, it's horrendous!!!!!!!
