Severe endometriosis and fertility

Hi ladies,

I'm new to this forum and have found it really helpful so far. I've just been diagnosed with severe endo following a lap and dye. I had chocolate cysts on both ovaries, ovaries stuck together and to pouch of Douglas and one blocked tube. The surgeon removed the cysts and some adhesions but I'm waiting for my follow up to find out more. I'm really worried about fertility - we'd already been trying for a while without success and I'm struggling to stay positive. I'm wondering whether there will be any chance of natural conception or whether IVF is the only real option. Has anyone else had a similar experience?

Hiya

I was officially diagnosed with moderately severe endo last March after my lap. I got my letter for Ivf yesterday and should be starting Ivf in January of the dates work out well.

Unfortunately it didn't work out for me but my friend has the exact same thing and conceived naturally.

It's taken me a long time to get to the point to say this, believe me there has been enough tears to fill the Thames but, my consultant said that Ivf was preferable as Us endo ladies typically have a harder time concieveing. The way I am making peace with it now is at least we have Ivf as a second option.

I was diagnosed with stage 4 severed endometriosis (obliteration of pouch of douglas) last July. I'm now four weeks pregnant with my second child, 7 months after the diagnosis. Both children have been conceived naturally. It is possible x

I am also in similar suitation. Lap done and waiting to get appointments for ivf. Naturally ttc as well . Best wishes
