Endometriosis suspected

My doctor has mentioned that I maybe have endometriosis. They have diagnosed me with polycistic ovarian disease but I don't think I have that. Just one question, in relation to endometriosis, is the pain there all the time or can it come and go?

I think it varies for each person. Mine is at its worst from ovulation to period, the 3 days leading up to a period are worse. Before my laparoscopy though I had 6 weeks of daily pain.

I was also diagnosed with ovarian cysts but after my scan they decided to go for a laparoscopy as I had every symptom of endometriosis. I was diagnosed with endo and they couldn't find any cysts.

Good luck!

I'm waiting on a laparoscopy but I've recently moved from Northern Ireland to England so I'm hoping I don't have to start at square 1 again. I have the coil in and so I don't get periods and so it's hard to tell when I am going through my ovulation period, however I do bleed from time to time

My pain Has no pattern whatsoever and doesn't seem to be particularly linked to my cycle. It happens at different time of day and in different areas of my body without any rhyme or reason! Hope you get a diagnosis soon x

For me I always teased that I get pre-cramps, normal start cramps, then after cramps. Then I would be fine until the next round. But about 6 or 7 years ago, it changed. I started getting pains on non period time days. Sometimes all day pain, sometimes for an hour or so. Now I am to the point where it is pain EVERY day and nearly all day long.

Hi I have both polycystic ovaries and endometriosis. I find that the pain is every day but is worse the week before my period and during . But both conditions can be different for everyone. X

I've got a doctors appointment for Tuesday to hopefully push the laparoscopy so fingers crossed they actually listen to me. Thanks for all the replies, I feel far better for finally finding people who understand what I'm going through x

I was told that PCOS does not cause pain, but it does cause other hormonal problems (unless you have a significantly enlarged cyst). I was told that endo was much more likely to be causing the pain. I have PCOS and endo. My pain comes twice a month. Once when I bleed, once when I ovulate. It does niggle at other times, like when I'm really stressed out or eat too much of the wrong stuff (notably sugar or alcohol) but those episodes generally pass quite quickly. Cysts should show on a scan I believe, so you should be able to get a relatively non-invasive diagnosis for that (an ultrasound and a blood test was how they tested me).

I was told the same thing about PCOS. I have got a lot of cysts but the pain is unbearable at times. I've had really bad pain for the last 4 days and nothing helps it at all. Hopefully the doc will help me tomorrow
