Me & my endo :(

Hi ladies, I thought I'd introduce myself. I have been on this site for a couple of months now but not introduced myself. I'm 32 (just) and have been married for 9 yrs,we have been together for 15yrs ( on bonfire night ). We have 2 children aged 13 & 9.

I had stared having trouble with my periods after my daughter(9) was born, they were irregular, painful and heavy. Sex has always been painful, but it started to get worse.

I was diagnosed in march 2010 with endo through a laparoscopic surgery, but the very kind surgeon didn't remove any of it ( very nice for him to let me carry on) he said there wasn't enough endo there to be making me have all the pain I was having, he also said I had a prolapsed womb. Very unaware of what endo was I was sent home to recover, unfortunately the pains, daily bleeding, bleeding with every bowel movement, pain during intercourse etc (as we know the list goes on).

Since then I am now under a different gynecologist,I have had 2 lots of zoladex injections (1for 3 months and 1for 6 months) I have had 4 other surgery, one was for a femoral hernia, the others for sterilization, ablation , diathermy on my womb as it was eroding, through years of being on the pill, my last one I had to push for as the gynecologist was very sure it wasn't endomitriosis as I had just finished a 6 month course of zoladex injections. Low and behold when he does the surgery he finds my bowls fused to my stomach and endo everywhere.

Since the last one in August i have still been bleeding daily (my gp has put me back on the pill :( ) I am still in daily pain, every time I open my bowels or i need to urinate it hurts, intercourse has happened once ( it didn't hurt, but I was expecting it to ) I feel at this point I am more mentally drained than ever. I'm crying a lot, I just feel at my wits end.

I only have an appointment with the gynecologist in February, and my gp said he wouldn't advise me having anything stronger than paracetamol and ibuprofen as the other painkillers could give me constipation and make my pains worse.

I feel so sorry for my family, my daughter was having a conversation with my mum and in it I overheard her saying my mum has belly ache all the time. my son is constantly asking am I ok and he won't let me carry shopping bags, and my husband, well he must have nerves of steal.

Thank you for letting me get all that off my chest.

Hope you are as well as can be today. I'm so confused by how your surgeon said theres not enough endo to cause pain because mine has also said that no matter if it's the tiniest bit or your covered it can cause the same amount of pain! I Just find it strange! Hope your pain is better for you and if you ever need a moan there's always all of us here! Sorry I couldn't be more help xxx

Thanks for replying, the lovely surgeon has now retired. I now understand that endo doesn't need to be a lot to cause pain. the gynecologist who I'm under now originally suggested a hysterectomy but when I mentioned it to him before my last op, he said he hadn't suggested it :-o and he wouldn't be willing for me to have it because I'm not 35! I wish there was a magic wand x

Hi Klarex, from what you describe it really sounds like a nightmare and I so sorry you are under that situation.

I agree with the other person that replied to you post. My understanding is (after reading several articles and books about endo) that pain and endometriosis tissue are not related.

I really hope you can find a doctor who hears your symptoms and is actually able to improve your life quality!!!

Regards.
