Hi I am having my lap on Monday and I am feeling very nervous. I have been told to prepare to stay in over night. My consultant also said I am high risk for bleeding heavy when they preform to procedure. I have never had a operation or had a general before.
Can anyone advise me what to expect. I know we are all different but just a general jist would help.
Thank you.

I only had a diagnostic one, but really don't worry too much about it! General anaesthetic is done so quickly you won't realise you even went in for the op till you wake up. You'll have tons of people that know what they're doing so don't worry xxx
Hello I had my lap done on Monday. I'd never had surgery or a general anaesthetic before so I was nervous, mostly because I didn't know what to expect. I found the whole thing absolutely fine - I even made my husband wait for me to finish my sandwich before he took me home! I had extensive endo that was treated and 5 days later I'm just a little bruised and tired but otherwise feel alright.
I had to wait around a little bit as I wasn't first in but I went into theatre at 3pm and left to go home at 7. At least you can prepare yourself for a possible overnight stay.
I totally understand how you are feeling but they will take good care of you.
I have just been for my pre op, lap is due in the next few weeks some time. They told me I would be discharged same day. Never had any operations so scared by not knowing. Fear is very counter productive though, so trying to think of other things. Good luck. Let us know how you go x
