Zoladex can be the root cause of so many side effects and pains it's very hard to be certain what these pains in the ankle will ultimately be.

However, knowing how much zoladex can render you inactive, and it prevents production of the hormones that help regulate blood pressure and heart rate etc

as well as the hormones that control kidney function too. It might be a non-dangerous event.

******There is however a significant risk that what you have described could be a DVT or deep vein thrombosis.

DVT starts off with a blood clot due to poor circulation and does cause a swelling in the calf and back of the leg pains - often behind the knee and back of calf and thigh.

Because DVT is life threatening in around 10% of cases, it is something which must be checked out at A&E as soon as you can please.

Please don't worry about wasting their time, it is much more important to get it checked out.*******

IF you have an NHS drop in centre rather than A&E that might be a quicker way to be assessed.

but they may have refer you directly to A&E anyway because of the need for scanning. A suspected DVT is an emergency.

If it turns out not to be a DVT, phew..... best to keep the ankle and leg elevated above your hips to help drain the extra fluids back out of the leg to reduce the discomfort from swelling.

If you go to hosp right now - before afternoon rush hour at A&E gets underway, you'll have a shorter waiting time.

You can also call NHS Direct to ask their opinion too while waiting for a taxi or someone to come and drive you to hosp.

I wouldn't recommend driving yourself as you may end up leaving the car in an expensive hosp carpark and not be able to drive it home for a while.

Please keep us posted on how you get on. Very best of Luck.
