Hi everyone, had my 2nd lap 3 weeks ago. And still in pain. I have stage 4 endometriosis, I still can't walk properly, feel tired all the time and in pain. I thought I would be better now. How long did it take you to feel better after surgery? Thanks

I think it was a good 3 to 4 weeks for me. Endo really effects by immune system and so it took me a while to get back together.

Are you taking time off work? If not that could also be slowing your recovery too.

Maybe try taking some echniecha? Its a herbal supplement you can get from health food stores, pharmacies and even some supermarkets now and it helps to boost your immune system. I personally find it really helpful! Another supplement that may help is arnica, its fantastic for swelling and bruising and often used by athletes. You can get tablets in health food shops (take them 3 x a day but be aware they interfere with blood thinking meds and maybe get some advice I'd you're not sure) but I know the gel is quite popular in boots etc too.

Taking a multivitamin with zinc, vitamin c and vitamin a will also help the tissues heal and vitamin b and iron can be helpful replenishing blood so that could be something else to try.

Personally I wouldn't panic. Everyone is different and your endo was obviously really bad so it stands to reason you need some time. I found massage really helpful in terms of helping the surrounding muscles to relax and releasing endorphins to help pain, maybe see if your partner or a friend could help with that if you don't fancy hiring a mobile therapist to come to you.

A little gentle walk everyday may also be helpful to get you moving and improve your mood, even if its just a toddle around the garden in the sunshine. The immune system relies on movement to pump stuff around the body and muscles need movement to rebuild themselves into proper supportive shapes so it should support your healing and get you used to moving again :)
