Follow up Gyno appointment : Hi ladies just... - Endometriosis UK
Follow up Gyno appointment
I wouldn't be nervous, I'm always exited to find out exactly how the op went (some surgeons will have pictures taken during the op to show you where the endo was found).
You should go prepared with a few questions about anything you want to know, doctor will probably just talk you through the procedure, where they found endo and what was done to treat it and then talk about the future, how they're going to treat it etc. And also to see how you are getting on after the op, whether your symptoms have improved.
My usual questions are where was the endo? What stage was it? Were my tubes clear? Any indication there could be an issue with my fertility at a later date? At what stage should I refer back to consultant if pain returns? How will it be treated following op (prostap injections, marina coil, the pill etc).
Good luck xx
I asked the same question on here last week as I was also really nervous as I am ttc! It's so scarey not knowing what they'll tell you! As Beetlebug said they will go through the results of your lap and how you are feeling now. I have had 2 very painful periods and heavy bleeding inbetween periods since the op so I was given better pain relief. He did an internal scan and this was clear. If the endo had returned I would have started menopause treatment for 6 months as this can remove any existing endo. Not what you want to hear but it is better in the long term apparently as it clears out the bad stuff!
He has referred me to the fertility specialist and I am now having the dye test on my fallopian tubes as my right one has some endo in.
Sorry, battery died!
Ultimately I feel much better just knowing that my fertility is being explored and I'm now well and truly in the hospital system. Let the investigations begin!
I really hope your appointment is productive and that they put your mind at rest.
I would really like to know how it goes. Xx
