i was diagnosed in 2004 via laparoscopy that i have Endo...i have not been touched since!!

this came after my son was born n with contraceptives keeping it at bay i have had a further 2 successful pregnancies...

2 years ago i was sterilized and so had no need for contraceptives...this has allowed my Endo to grow back causing prolonged heavy and painful bleeding.

my doctor put me on the Depo injection in nov 2013 ,this was great as my periods stopped...until this month that is...i have been spotting for 3 weeks non stop...the doc gave me an extra depo to see if that stopped the bleeding but it didnt so they gave me the mini pill(progetrogen only) n that worked...for 6 days...

being dry for 6 days i gave my partner the all clear n we had a night of passion finally after 3 weeks not being able to... during this event i had a lot of pain and i started dripping and then bled out!! i was so upset n embarrassed had to change the bed n both of us shower...

ive called the out of hours team n they sed they cant do anything n to see my own doc...i am so sure this is something sinister and with all the miss diagnoses of cancers in women just lately im terrified as to wots goin on.

doc want me on the coil next but i dont want that if there is something wrong up there...

sorry for the waffle

Hi JMC1984,

You need to get your doctor to refer you to an endo specialist to address your endo. Look at these lists and find the nearest one to you or even an aspiring centre

bsge.org.uk/ec-BSGE-accredi...

bsge.org.uk/ec-BSGE-provisi...

Even a referral to a gynaecologist would be something.

On the nhs you have the right to choose your specialist.

Your GP is also required to offer you a choice of specialists.

If there is resistance to your request for referral you need to get very pushy or change GP. You have the right to change GP.

You need to be properly examined and diagnosed before treatment can be decided. Your endo diagnosis was 10 years ago and needs to be reconfirmed.

Please try to remember that heavy and painful bleeding can be the result of several causes and it's tempting to think the worst. Your previously diagnosed endo is the most likely cause but you should get it checked out.

Good luck, try not to worry and push for referral. x
