Hello

I'm 19 years old and been diagnosed in 2012 with mild endo, I get severe pain and have been admitted to A&E on morphine twice over last 10 days. I can't control pain near my belly button.

At the moment I'm on the floor in unbelievable pain, tramadol, paracetamol or diclophenic haven't helped! Is there anything I can try? Please???

xx

Hi I am so sorry that you are suffering so much with this. I am close to your age and going through the same thing. I have also been admitted to A&E on morphine twice since 2014. At the moment my pain is extremely bad so I understand how you feel. I am currently taking paracetamol with tramadol and mefenamic acid (make sure you don't take ibuprofen with mefenamic acid) and this concoction is working fairly well for me at the moment. A paramedic once advised me to overlap taking my painkillers if that makes sense, so for example, I take paracetamol when I wake up, then 2 hours later take something else, and every 2 hours take a new painkiller. Obviously make sure you write it down so you don't accidently overdose. I have found this advice really useful and it is the best way to manage my pain because I have a constant supply of painkillers in my bloodstream.

Are you currently having any treatment for endo? X

Hey sorry your having a rough time with pain. Some people find tens machines help with pain, I've not personally tried it yet but I'm going to give it a go until my next op arrives. Overlapping painkillers are Tamsin suggested is also a good idea. I'm quite restricted when it comes to different medication because of interactions with other things I need to take so I can't really suggest much other meds wise. Usually I just curl up somewhere with a hot water bottle, not sure it actually helps the pain but it does help to calm me a little. I hope things improve for you soon and you get a more permanent solution.

Hi, sorry you are not getting your pain under control.I had some success using the TENS machine in conjunction with overlapping paracetamol and ibuprofen. If you know when your period is starting take the painkillers the day before you are due. Good luck!
