Positivity towards laproscopy?

I'm due to have a laproscopy on the 24th of this month and I'm getting really down about it, I just can't see how it'll benefit me, and I've read online all these stories how it hasn't helped people and I'm worried it'll be the same for me - I have extremely heavy periods - dysmenorrhea and intercourse is so painful it's a no go, my last boyfriend wasn't very supportive at all...I hope that the laproscopy helps in some way! They are also treating me for a possible vaginal septum :( Does anyone have any success stories they can share? Thankyou :)

Hi there, noticed you'd found all the replies about having the op, so hopefully you will be a little more prepared. I think getting your diagnosis is the first and most important thing to do, then if you have endo you'll be at the start of the right treatment for you

Success stories.... my daughter was 19 yesterday! Keep in touch x

I would say it is definitely a good thing to have done. I was told I DID NOT have ovarian cancer from having a lap and was diagnosed with Endo after 30 years of not knowing what was wrong with me! As long as you take it easy afterwards it does not take too long to get back to normal again. If I had to have another, I would not hesitate! XXXXXX
