Hi Anisha18, tell us more about the background - did you have surgery? Or is it painful periods etc? I'm on Tramadol at the moment high dose post laparoscopy. Let us know a bit more so that people could start to encourage you xxx Hope you'll feel better very soon x

Hi Anisha

I too was driving myself insane with pain, daily slog at work and no sleep made me feel like i was having a breakdown.

I have endo, had numerous operations, now have new cysts on the remaining part of my right ovary, and horrific pelvic pain.

Basically after being back and forth to the doctors, mostly when i was in So much pain I was doubled over, i had had enough and booked an appointment with my GP to discuss pain management.

Although I'm on my second dose of zoladex, things were feeling pretty grim.

The doctor has now taken me off tramadol and codeine and instead replaced with naproxen which is an anti inflammatory. This helps reduce the inflammation therefore helping to reduce the pain. I have diclofenac suppositories also to use if i feel particularly bad, and these work within 20 minutes of taking.

I am finding that this is starting to help me lead a relatively normal existence, i have also started a healthy eating regime and since the New Year lost 16lbs.....it took a while for me to get into the right mindset to think that instead of this beating me down i am going to fight like a girl!

Its so unfair that us ladies have this to go through, i would strongly suggest you book an appointment with your doctor, keep a diary of when the pain is at its worst, what dosage of pain relief you are taking and strongly discuss the fact that you are not prepared to continue your life in daily pain and in this day and age there has to be some alternative you can try.

We are all so different, that what works for me may not for you, however i would never have considered that anti inflammatories would make this much difference to me.

Good luck, i found it difficult to be rational when discussing with my GP as i was always in tears with pain, so make an appointment and go in prepared.

I've also recently tried a TENS machine, you can get them from lloyds for as little as £9, personally i found that after some perseverance it helps me greatly. I wear it under my clothes sometimes when at work to help take the edge off the pain. I also use a wheat bag at night as my pain tends to be worse when i lie down..

Be strong and prepare yourself mentally and with diary notes and facts and have an honest and assertive discussion with your GP.

Let us know how you get on, we are all here to help support, you are defo not insane..

Sharpee xx
