I have recently been diagnosed with Endometriosis after having surgery to remove an ovarian cyst. During the surgery they removed part of one ovary (which I'm not sure is now functional) and also treat the endo which they found.
I am trying to conceive and wanted to know when I would be eligible for help from the NHS. I know it can be a number of years for people my age (24) but wondered if the issues I have would mean I could get help earlier.
It may depend on the local NHS service and your GP, but I was told I would be able to ask for help after trying for 6 months with no success, or three months if I were having irregular cycles. I am not sure if that then means I would still go to the bottom of a waiting list but I would get referred a lot sooner than the average couple. It would be a good idea to speak with your GP as they would know what the local guidelines are for your situation and give you a clear answer as to what to expect. Good luck!

Every CCG (old pct) will have their own guidelines so find out from your GP who you fall under, call them and ask them to email you a copy of their assisted conception criteria, in my area if you have known issues (like endo) you can be referred after 6 months of trying

I'm seeing a fertility specialist and they usually see you after two years of trying or if have severe infertility problems sooner.
You only have to be 23 so 24 is great! with exceptions depending on your circumstances.
I have pcos, severe endometriosis , adenomyosis im 22 , 23 August and im being seen i think shes trying me on clomid or going straight for the ivf.
Hi I had my lap to remove endo in mid December and they told me I had 6 months to try and conceive naturally then they would discuss the next steps. I am 29 though so in IVF terms I'm getting on a bit!
